Job Description of District Secretary
Duties and Qualifications:
- The secretary records and distributes minutes of district meetings.
- Keeps mailing lists up to date and sends out district mailings.
- This job is time consuming and needs to be carried out on schedule.
- The secretary needs to be sure that ample time is available to complete the many tasks.
- Qualifications include having had a reasonable period of sobriety, usually two or three years and some previous service experience at the group level.
- A strong background in general office work coupled with solid computer skills is needed.
- In order to fulfill these duties, it is essential that the secretary have a computer w/printer and Email access.
- Term and Election: In order to provide district committee continuity, the secretary position is normally filled on alternate years from D.C.M. elections and is for a two year period.
