White County Corrections Schedule

Duties and Qualifications:

  • District Corrections representatives take part in area Corrections committee meetings. They keep their district’s groups informed about local 12-Step activities in nearby institutions and encourage group members to participate.
  • District Corrections representatives support the Group Corrections Rep in starting A.A. meetings in prisons and jails, where allowed by the correctional facility, to help alcoholic inmates recover and prepare for sober,  fulfilling lives after release.
  • For more information, attend District and Area Committee meetings, where information is shared on corrections service work.
  • As part of the temporary contact program known in some areas as Bridging the Gap, participants can also serve as correspondents and as A.A. contacts when inmates are released.

  • Contact your group GSR if you are interested in participating as either chairman or alternate.

Current Corrections Activity

  • August 2021 Update: In need of volunteers in ALL counties. If you're interested, please contact the officers or your GSR.
  • If you are interested in participating in AA meetings held for inmates at the White County Detention Center,  the application must be completed and approved.
  • Part of the approval process is a background check, no felony's, and no prior incarcerations in the White County Detention Center.
